Start Engaging

No one is engaging on your posts…? 👀 Same.

But quick question: who did you engage with today?

Because engagement isn’t a vending machine. You don’t post once and magically get comments back. You start it first.

If you want people to show up for you, you’ve gotta show up for them. Here’s what to do (and why it works):

✅ 1) Liking

It’s a quick “I see you.” It puts you back on someone’s radar.

Do this: Like posts from people you actually want to connect with.

Aim for 10 likes in 2 minutes before you post.

💬 2) Commenting

This is the strongest signal. It starts real conversations and builds trust fast.

Do this: Use this simple formula: Agree + add one point + ask one question.

Try: “This is so true. I’ve noticed that too. What’s one change that helped you most?”

Today: Leave 3 real comments (2–3 sentences each).

🔁 3) Sharing

This is the biggest compliment: “Other people need to see this.”

It helps the creator reach new people—and builds goodwill fast.

Do this: Share with a reason: “This helped me because ____.”

Share 1 post a day your audience would care about.

... Read moreFrom my experience, consistently engaging with others before posting has transformed my social media presence. The key is genuine interaction. When you like posts from people you truly want to connect with, it’s a quick and effective way to remind them you’re there. Aim for about 10 likes in just a few minutes—it’s a manageable routine that keeps your feed active. Commenting is where meaningful connections happen. I started using a simple formula: agree with the post, add an additional insight, then finish with a question to encourage a response. For example, I might say, “I completely agree with your point about engagement. I’ve found that asking open-ended questions helps spark deeper conversations. What’s your favorite method for maintaining interaction?” Leaving three thoughtful comments daily really helped build rapport and trust with others. Sharing is often overlooked, but it’s the highest compliment you can give a creator. Sharing posts with a personal note like, "This helped me because it reminded me to stay consistent," adds context and encourages your audience to engage with the shared content. I found that sharing one relevant post a day widened my network and fostered goodwill. Implementing this quick "Do This Today" challenge—liking 10 posts, commenting on 3 with real feedback, and sharing one post with a brief comment—takes around 5 minutes and primes your feed for better engagement. Try this daily for a week and observe how it changes your social media dynamics. This proactive approach helps move beyond passively waiting for engagement and instead builds relationships that prompt more interaction on your own posts.
