BOOK REVIEW | Things We Never Got Over 🫶🏼

I might be a little late to the party with this series but my god…. I don’t want it to end.

Which Knockemout man are you mentally in a relationship with????

because -

I neeed to find me a Knox Morgan IMMEDIATELY!

I truly loved this book despite all of the shitty reviews I saw going goig into it.

Unexpectedly SPICY, like hot and heavy spicy, but I am not complaining at all.

I want more of and Knox! I loved the small town aspect and the heavy family presence throughout the book, how everyone took care of one another. I thought the storyline was incredible and engaging, I enjoyed the good vs bad twin and mystery

throughout.

I have already read book two of the Knockemout series - will report on number 3 soon 🫡

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard the buzz about "Things We Never Got Over" and you're probably wondering: just how spicy is it, and what's the deal with Knox Morgan? Well, let me spill the tea from my own reading experience! First off, the spice level. When I picked up Lucy Score's book, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but let me tell you, it delivered! It's not just "fade to black" romance; this book gets genuinely hot and heavy. The chemistry between Naomi and Knox is palpable from their very first interaction. Lucy Score does an incredible job of building that tension and making the spicy scenes feel completely earned and a natural part of their evolving relationship. It's the kind of spice that makes you blush, but also makes you root for the characters even more. If you're into romance that doesn't shy away from intimate details, you'll be very happy with this one. It definitely lived up to the hype for me! Now, onto the man himself: Knox Morgan. Oh, Knox. He's the grumpy, small-town barber with a heart of gold (eventually!). What makes him so utterly captivating? For me, it's his protective nature, his gruff exterior that hides a deep well of care, and his undeniable charm, even when he's being a complete curmudgeon. He's not your typical alpha male; he's got vulnerabilities and a past that makes him incredibly complex. Seeing him slowly melt for Naomi and her niece, Waylay, is just *everything*. The OCR image mentioned "I'd let Knox Morgan disrespect me any day," and honestly, after reading, I totally get it! He's the kind of fictional character you find yourself thinking about long after you've closed the book. Beyond the sizzling romance and Knox's magnetic personality, the small-town setting of Knockemout truly shines. Lucy Score weaves a community that feels incredibly real and supportive. Everyone knows everyone's business, yes, but there's also a powerful sense of family and belonging. This tight-knit atmosphere adds so much warmth and depth to the story, making you feel right at home. The way the town rallies around Naomi and Waylay is heartwarming, showing that even in a grumpy hero's world, there's always a place for kindness and connection. And let's not forget the unexpected elements! The "good vs. bad twin" dynamic adds a layer of mystery and intrigue that keeps the plot moving beyond just the romance. It's not just a love story; there are real stakes and genuine suspense that kept me turning pages late into the night. Lucy Score has truly crafted a world you won't want to leave. This book is perfect if you love grumpy/sunshine tropes, small-town charm, a dash of mystery, and definitely, a whole lot of delicious spice. It’s a complete package that left me desperately wanting to stay in Knockemout.
