I didn’t come to Texas chasing a dream.
I came because I needed a place to be safe.
When I arrived, I didn’t know a single person.
No job.
No bed.
No place to live.
Just my cat, Zina Agent 009 and a quiet decision to choose faith over fear.
This first photo looks peaceful and it was for a moment.
But peace doesn’t always mean life is easy.
Sometimes it means you finally chose yourself.
When I left Chicago, it wasn’t a fresh start. It was the end of the beginning, I just didn’t know it.
I wasn’t brave. I was done surviving.
Starting over wasn’t glamorous or social media worthy.
It was messy, lonely, and uncertain, but it was mine.
This is the part of the story where nothing was guaranteed…
except the belief that staying would have cost me more than leaving.
I reclaimed the narrative: this happened to me, but it didn’t define me.
I’m sharing this because safety is worth starting over for, and because someone scrolling tonight might need to know they’re not weak for leaving.
I didn’t arrive in Texas whole.
I arrived willing.
And that was enough to begin again.
