Bella (chihuahua) 4 weeks 5 days
Watching Bella grow from just a few days old has been an incredibly rewarding experience. At 4 weeks and 5 days, Bella is transitioning from her newborn phase into early puppyhood, which is packed with exciting developmental milestones. Around this age, puppies start to open their eyes and ears more fully, beginning to explore their surroundings and interact with littermates or humans. I noticed Bella becoming more curious and lively compared to the previous weeks, showing early signs of socialization. Feeding becomes an important part of her routine at this stage. Since she is still too young for solid food, Bella relies primarily on her mother’s milk or a suitable puppy milk replacer. However, some gentle introduction to soft, moistened puppy kibble can be started under guidance, which helps her get used to new tastes and textures. It's also essential to monitor the health and hygiene of a puppy this young. I make sure Bella stays warm and dry and that her living area is clean to prevent any infections. Handling Bella gently and regularly not only helps with socialization but also builds trust between us. Early gentle play and exposure to sounds and mild stimuli are beneficial for her brain development. From my experience, keeping a close eye on Bella’s behavior and physical growth weekly helps to catch any issues early. If Bella shows signs of lethargy, refusal to eat, or any abnormalities, consulting a veterinarian promptly is crucial. Each Chihuahua puppy grows at her unique pace, so patience and attentive care make all the difference during these early weeks.

Awwww what a sweet heart!
