Carolina Beach *things to do!* 🩵✨

If you’re looking for some things to do in Carolina Beach ~besides~ swimming and lounging on the beach, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some of my recs 👇

1. Grab a sweet treat from Celtic Creamery. This ice cream spot is within walking distance from the boardwalk and offers lots of yummy flavors for super affordable prices (one scoop is just $3)! Hours: 11-10.

2. Spend some time swinging with an ocean view in the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. It’s totally free and very relaxing. You might have to wait during busy seasons

3. Have an affordable lunch on the water at Stoked Restaurant. You can enjoy marina views while eating seafood or lots of other options for around $10-20 per person.

Carolina Beach
2024/11/3 Edited to

... Read moreCarolina Beach truly offers so much more than just sunbathing and swimming, though those are certainly highlights! My recent trip there reaffirmed why it's a favorite North Carolina beach destination. If you're hoping to experience the vibrant local scene and find some truly unique activities without breaking the bank, you're in for a treat. Beyond the specific spots like Celtic Creamery with its irresistible $3 scoops (their birthday cake flavor is a must-try!), and Stoked Restaurant offering fantastic seafood and fries with a marina view, the Carolina Beach Boardwalk itself is a treasure trove of fun. It’s not just about the iconic swings where you can relax and watch the ocean – though those are indeed a free and vibey activity! Strolling along the boardwalk, especially in the evening, is an experience in itself. You'll often find live music, street performers, and various food stalls selling everything from classic carnival treats to local delicacies. There are arcades for some old-school fun and seasonal amusement rides that add to the lively atmosphere. It’s a fantastic place to soak in the local culture and create lasting memories, all while enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. For those looking to explore a bit further, the area around Carolina Beach is full of other exciting, often budget-friendly options. Just a short drive away, you can visit the Kure Beach Pier, which is ideal for fishing or simply enjoying panoramic ocean views. The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is another excellent attraction, offering fascinating insights into marine life, and it's quite educational for all ages. If you love the outdoors, consider renting a bike or walking along one of the many scenic trails in Carolina Beach State Park, where you might even spot the famous Venus flytraps in their natural habitat. Many of these activities are either free or have a nominal entrance fee, making them perfect additions to your itinerary. To make your Carolina Beach vacation even more affordable, I always recommend packing a small cooler with drinks and snacks for your beach days. This saves a lot compared to buying everything at convenience stores. Look out for local events – Carolina Beach often hosts free concerts, movies in the park, or farmers' markets that offer a taste of local life without costing a fortune. Exploring the quaint shops and taking advantage of the beautiful public beaches are, of course, completely free. Carolina Beach stands out among North Carolina beaches for its laid-back, family-friendly vibe and its unique blend of natural beauty with classic boardwalk charm. It’s truly a gem for anyone seeking a fun and memorable getaway that respects your budget.

We love Carolina Beach! Especially Fort Fisher. Our favorite stop is The Peach Cobbler Factory! Oh, and I don’t remember the name of the restaurant but there is an amazing cheap Mexican restaurant as well
