Mommies Read The Caption🌸

In my recent efforts to be nice to myself I am working on making sure I do some of the things I want without interfering with my mom duties. For example

- putting on makeup, not that I need it but it was always an art outlet for me. And my baby thinks it’s cool!

- taking pride in my nails : I like them simple I was never really a polish girl but they make my hands feel pretty 💅🏼💁🏽‍♀️

- stretching, drinking water, taking a second for “me time” even if it’s just to sit still & breathe…

Mom guilt is real, along with a million & 3 other emotions that erupt after childbirth but I’m choosing to find my way back to me. & honestly I don’t need to be the me I was before. But I’m enjoying understanding & watering the woman I am now.

I am choosing to be nice to me, all of me. Not just the mom.

Here are some effective self-care practices for busy moms: 1. **Set the Scene for Self-Care**: Create a soothing space in your home where you can unwind. Whether it’s your bedroom, a cozy corner, or a garden spot, having a designated area for relaxation can significantly enhance your mood. 2. **Make Time for Creativity**: Engaging in creative activities can be therapeutic. Try painting, journaling, or crafting. These activities not only serve as a form of expression but also provide a joyful escape from daily responsibilities. 3. **Connect with Other Moms**: Building a supportive network with other mothers can alleviate feelings of isolation. Share your experiences and challenges. Participating in local mom groups or online forums can foster friendships and provide emotional support. 4. **Practice Mindfulness**: Incorporate mindfulness into your routine through meditation or simply taking a moment to breathe deeply. Mindfulness can reduce stress and improve focus, helping you stay attuned to your needs. 5. **Establish Boundaries**: It's essential to carve out personal time without feeling guilty. Communicate your needs with your family, ensuring they understand the importance of your self-care routine. 6. **Celebrate Small Wins**: Acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem. This recognition contributes to a positive self-image and motivates you to continue nurturing both yourself and your family. Finding the right balance as a mom is a journey. Embrace the new you while also honoring your past. By nurturing your well-being, you will be better equipped to care for your family.
