Why are they so unfocused?

... Read moreWhen I was in college, I often found myself distracted despite knowing the importance of staying focused during study time. One thing that stood out was how easy it was to lose concentration when surrounded by social media and the pressure to keep up with friends who seemed to ace exams effortlessly. From my experience, understanding why students are unfocused starts with acknowledging the overwhelming amount of distractions and academic pressure they face. For instance, feeling like "I only have one smart friend" can sometimes make others doubt their own abilities and lose motivation. To tackle this, I began practicing small but effective study habits: breaking tasks into manageable chunks, using the Pomodoro technique, and limiting phone usage. Also, creating a designated study space helped me mentally separate relaxation from work. Furthermore, talking with peers and sharing study tips created a support network that motivated me to stay on track. I noticed that recognizing our common struggles, like exam stress and balancing college life, can be very reassuring. If you’re trying to stay focused, remember that it’s normal to have off days. The key is to build consistent routines, minimize digital distractions, and lean on your support system. With patience and practice, improving focus becomes achievable, making study sessions more productive and less stressful.
