Onward Disney movie night 🫶
Hey fellow Disney lovers! I recently put together the most magical Onward Disney movie night at home, and I just had to share all my tips and tricks with you. If you're looking for fun Disney themed movie nights to spice up your weekends, this one is a real gem, especially for fans of Ian and Barley Lightfoot's epic quest! First off, the key to any great themed movie night is immersion. For 'Onward,' I focused on creating a cozy, adventurous vibe. Think soft blankets, pillows scattered on the floor like a comfy camping setup, and dim, magical lighting – maybe some fairy lights strung up. I even found some purple and blue streamers to mimic the movie's mystical glow. For snacks, we had 'dragon snacks' (green grapes and veggie sticks), 'Phoenix Gem' candies (colorful rock candy), and of course, classic popcorn. It really felt like we were part of the journey in New Mushroomton! What I love most about hosting these themed nights is how they bring everyone together. It’s not just about watching a movie; it’s about creating an experience. We even played a quick scavenger hunt before the film, looking for 'quests' around the house. It kept the kids (and adults!) entertained and built up the excitement for the main feature. TADA! The anticipation was half the fun. Now, for a question many of you might have, especially after seeing this post: 'Will there be an Onward 2?' As of now, Disney hasn't officially announced a sequel for 'Onward,' which honestly makes me a little sad because I adored the first one so much! However, Pixar often takes its time to tell the right story, so never say never. Until then, rewatching the original and diving into fan theories keeps the magic alive. It's such a heartwarming story about brotherhood and finding your own magic, isn't it? Oh my, (OM) I could watch it again right now! To truly get into the movie, I always try to optimize our viewing setup. While I don't have a full 'Disney enhanced home theater mix logo' setup, a good soundbar and a clear picture make a huge difference. Turning off all the lights and minimizing distractions really helps you get lost in the story – whether it’s the emotional journey in 'Onward' or even nostalgic classics with characters like Timon and Pumbaa at the cinema. It’s about creating that cinematic feel right in your living room. I highly recommend trying an Onward Disney movie night if you haven't already. It's a fantastic way to reconnect with a beloved film and make new memories. What are your favorite Disney movie night themes? I'm always looking for new inspiration!
