I recently threw a Monsters Inc movie night, and let me tell you, the themed food was a HUGE hit. It doesn't have to be super complicated to be fun and look amazing, trust me! First up, you've gotta embrace those iconic Monsters Inc colors: bright blues, greens, and purples. Think about the characters and what makes them unique. For Mike Wazowski, anything green and round is perfect! I made these super easy 'Mike's Eye' caprese skewers using cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and a slice of black olive for the pupil. Or for something sweet, just green grapes with a tiny dot of black icing for the eye. One of my absolute faves was our 'Scare'ot Stick Tray' – it's just carrots and celery sticks, but calling them 'scare'ot sticks' instantly makes them themed! We served them with a bowl of green ranch dip, which we affectionately called 'Slime Dip.' It's such a simple trick, but it totally works and gets everyone giggling. Then there were the 'Monster Toes'! For these, I melted some blue and green candy melts, dipped pretzel rods in them, and then added a little mini marshmallow on the end as the 'toenail.' You could also use mini hot dogs and cut a little 'nail' shape out of cheese for a savory version. Get creative with what you have in your pantry! And remember those adorable scream canisters? You can totally make 'Scream Canister Pasta' by using rotini pasta (it looks like the can's texture!) and a vibrant red marinara sauce. Sprinkle with some Parmesan for a snowy effect, like the monster world! It's a fun and easy Monsters Inc dinner idea. For drinks, a 'Slime Punch' is a must. Just grab some lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, and a few drops of green food coloring. Float some gummy worms or candy eyeballs in there for extra monster fun. For something blue, I mixed blue raspberry syrup with sparkling water for a 'Sully's Blue Lagoon' drink – so refreshing and perfectly themed. Don't forget about desserts! Sugar cookies cut into circles and decorated like Mike's eye or Sulley's spots are always a winner. You can even get those Danimals Pixar yogurts and just pop them on a tray – instant themed snack with zero effort. They're perfect for little ones and a great way to incorporate a known brand into your 'monsters inc snacks' spread! If you're thinking about a bigger bash, like a Monsters Inc party or even a baby shower, these ideas can easily scale up. You can make a 'Monster Fruit Platter' with all blue and green fruits, or a 'door' shaped sandwich platter. Even a 'Monsters University' themed spread could use green and blue snacks, maybe with little 'MU' flags or mini diploma cookies! The possibilities for Monsters Inc themed food are endless. The key is to have fun with it and not overthink. Use food coloring, creative names, and simple ingredients. Your guests, big and small, will absolutely love the effort you put into making your Monsters Inc movie night unforgettable. What are your go-to movie night themes?
