My bf hasn‘t change the bedding since he was a kid

My boyfriend and I had been dating about a month, and last weekend I finally spent the night at his place. At first, everything was fine — his apartment was clean, he cooked, we watched a movie, cozy vibes. But then we got to the bed… and I swear my soul left my body.

The sheets were gray-ish, the pillows yellow, flat, lumpy, and stained — like they’d survived multiple decades. I tried laughing it off and asked when he last changed them. He said casually, “Oh, I’ve had these since I was a kid.” Not joking. I couldn’t sleep in that bed.

He got defensive, said I was overreacting, and even implied that caring about him meant ignoring hygiene. I left.
