Learning new things 🫶💐🤌
I am so excited, today was my first time making horchata! It’s one of my favorite drinks and today I decided to learn how to make it at home, it was soooo easy, I’ll probably start making it at least once a month!
Here is what I did
Ingredients:
2 cups of rice
4 sticks of cinnamon
Toast until golden, soak for 30 mins then blend with the sugar and enough water to fill the blender.
Strain and mix with more water (to taste, I did about a blender and a half)
Serve chilled 🧊🧊

Horchata is a traditional Mexican beverage made from rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. It’s known for its creamy texture and sweet flavor, making it a popular choice on warm days. To make horchata, start by toasting the rice and cinnamon to bring out their flavors. Soak the mixture to soften the rice before blending it with sugar and water. This method enhances the drink's natural sweetness. Not only is horchata delicious, but it also has a rich cultural history. Many families have their own variations, adding ingredients like almonds or coconut for a personal touch. Whether served chilled on a hot day or as a sweet complement to spicy meals, horchata is a versatile drink beloved by many. You can experiment with different spices or even make it dairy-free using plant-based milk. Enjoy the refreshing taste of horchata in your kitchen and share your own twists on this traditional recipe!
