My dad was visiting for a few days, so I got to spend the day showing him around all we the sights of Dublin. It was so much fun sharing all the things I love about Dublin with him and showing him what my day to day life looks like studying abroad out here!

Exploring a new city, especially when you're studying abroad, is always an adventure. But there's something truly special about revisiting your favorite spots and discovering new gems when you have family visiting. That's exactly what my recent day in Dublin felt like as I got to share my slice of Irish life with someone dear. Our day began amidst the grand, historic architecture of Trinity College. It’s not just a university; it's a journey back in time. The sheer scale and beauty of the buildings are breathtaking, and walking through its courtyards really makes you feel connected to centuries of history. While we didn't go inside the Old Library this time, the atmosphere alone is inspiring, and I always recommend it for anyone looking to soak in some intellectual heritage. From there, we ventured into the heart of the city, taking a leisurely stroll down Grafton Street. This bustling street scene is always alive with energy – street performers, shoppers, and those vibrant flower stalls overflowing with colorful bouquets that just brighten your day. It’s a fantastic place for people-watching and soaking up the local vibe. Just a stone's throw away, a visit to St. Stephen's Green offered a peaceful contrast. Under a sunny sky, the lush green grass and scattered yellow flowers made for a perfect spot to relax and take a breather from the city bustle. It's truly an urban oasis. No trip to Dublin would be complete without experiencing its rich religious history. We made sure to see the impressive stone architecture of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, with its distinctive spire reaching towards the sky. Afterwards, we took in the intricate stone facade and arched windows of Christ Church Cathedral. Both are architectural masterpieces and offer a quiet moment for reflection amidst the lively city. As lunchtime approached, we headed to Darkey Kelly's, a traditional Irish establishment known for its red brick exterior and authentic pub feel. It’s a fantastic spot for a hearty meal and to experience genuine Irish hospitality. Later, we couldn't resist a visit to the iconic red facade of The Temple Bar, adorned with its famous shamrock decorations. While often bustling with tourists, it’s a must-see for its historical significance and lively atmosphere. If you're studying abroad in Dublin, exploring these cultural hubs gives you a real taste of local life and history. Exploring Dublin Castle, with its classical architecture and prominent clock tower, rounded out our historical exploration. It’s fascinating to learn about Ireland’s past within its walls. After a full day of sightseeing, we ended our adventure with some delicious pizza and refreshing drinks – a perfect, satisfying end to a day packed with exploration and cherished memories. For anyone studying abroad in Dublin or just visiting, my advice is to embrace every moment, walk as much as you can, and let the city’s charm guide your way. It's an unforgettable experience!
