As a fan who grew up listening to her songs, I can attest that Selena transcended her role as a singer; she became a symbol of perseverance and cultural pride. Beyond her talent, she was a trailblazer as a young Latina entrepreneur and philanthropist, a true role model for many aspiring artists. Visiting the Selena Museum is on my bucket list because it offers a tangible way to experience her story and contributions. The museum showcases not just her achievements, but also provides context about the challenges she faced — including the tragic circumstances that cut her life short due to jealousy and malice. Knowing that the person responsible is now serving life in prison adds a bittersweet closure to her story. The 30th anniversary of her death sparked worldwide celebrations, highlighting how deeply she is missed yet fondly remembered. Her father’s passing shortly after also marked an emotional chapter, underscoring the profound impact Selena’s legacy had on her family. For me and many others, praying and remembering Selena is a reminder to cherish creativity, kindness, and determination. Her legacy lives on not just through her music, but through the lives she touched and the doors she opened for future generations. May she rest in eternal paradise, and may her story continue to inspire hope and passion in all who hear it.
