Shamian Island (Samian Island) 🏛️
Small shady island. Two sides of the way are full of big trees and old buildings, well-preserved western style. The atmosphere of this place is quiet, unlike the busy downtown of Guangzhou. It is private because it limits the amount of cars. Anyone can come for a walk, eat architecture or come. Cafe Hopping is also available in many shops.
In the 19th century, the island used to be rented by Britain and France, making most of the architecture on the island so neoclassical and Victorian that it was like really slipping into Europe.
Another must-see highlight for anyone visiting Starbucks. The store is in a classic Harry Potter-themed decorative building. Especially on the 2nd floor, it is divided into zones of each Hogwarts house. Wizarding disciples will definitely like this.
🚇 Subway line 1 or line 6, get off Huangsha Station, exit F, walk across the overpass connecting to the island. It's about a 5-10 minute walk or a DiDi ride.
