Has been commended for resourcefulness and courage displayed in a Police Operation resulting in the recovery of three pieces of firearms and some ammunition from a notorious gunman who took his own life to avoid arrest, and the arrest of anothere gunman who later convicted on five counts of armed robbery.

For the award, she risk her life by posing as girlfriend to a confidant of infamous gunman, Tan Chian Lai who had murder a watch shop owner, Fong Thian Lock(60).
Before the police commando storm the flat, 6525 pretend to be hungry and led her pretend boyfriend( the confidant) ,out of the flat. An gun battle follows after Tan Chian Lai choose to fight it out.
Two grenade and pistol was found at the dead gunman, Still holding to his gun.
She is calm and compose.
All who knew her, knows she is homely wife and alway address herself as Mrs xxxx xxxxx. Out of respect for her husband.
She is preharps the only female officer who work so close to The trigger happy gunman.
It was rumoured she is so slim and small built, she often mistaken as a drug addict. But criminal will regret and blame themselves for poor judgement of appearance when she take the stand in court as prosecution witness.
In a ceremony in Sept 1971, she march on stage to received the award from commissioner of Police, Mr Tan Teck Khim at the Police Academy in Thomson Road.
Subsequently, she was posted to CID. In a man world of harden policeman who face danger daily, she was accepted into the family as Women Detective with special status that seen action, in the face of danger.
