Vulnerability Post 🫣💭
As a newly found Christian girl I think it’s important to share my journey with my community (and new friends, heyyyyy 👋🏼🥰)
with that being said here are some things I still struggle with even as a christian girly. 👇🏼
1. Forgiveness: As hard as my life has been, and as much trauma as i’ve actually experienced in this lifetime makes it really hard for me to forgive people. Although Jesus emphasizes the importance of forgiveness, it’s still hard for me to let go of something someone has done to me in the past.
Scripture to meditate on:
Matthew 18:21-22 NLT
“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”
2. Trusting in his Plan:
I’m at a really low point in my life at this time. I’ve been struggling a lot lately to maintain my life as a single mom after being one for almost 13 years. I know God has so much planned for me but the way he shakes your whole world up to prepare you for where you want to be is no joke! He will put you through the craziest things .. but in the end that will be my testimony! 🙏🏼
When we are struggling to understand God's plan, we can find comfort in knowing that He is sovereign, loving, and faithful. ✝️
Scripture to meditate on:
Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
3. Being quick to Anger:
I’ve always held so much of my pain in growing up and now that i’m an adult I have no idea where to even begin to learn how to handle all of these emotions. The tiniest things trigger me and even though i’ve gotten a lot better with this I still have a lot of work to do. I cry a lot these days but I know God has great things in store for me after the storm! ⛈️
Scripture to meditate on:
James 1:19 NLT
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.”
4. Sitting with and Understanding my Emotions:
It's important to remember that God created us with emotions, and they can serve as signals to help us understand our inner selves and our relationship with Him. However, it's crucial to not let our emotions control us but instead surrender them to God's will.
Scripture to meditate on:
Psalm 62:8 NLT
"Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge."
This verse reminds us that we can pour out our hearts to God, sharing our emotions and seeking His comfort and guidance.
5. Anxiety/ Worrying:
I feel like because of the position i’m currently in, I worry about soooo many things. Being a mom of 2 at 29 is not easy at all… but Lord knows I try my best.
Scripture to meditate on:
6. Secular music:
I struggle with cursing when I get upset or angry and i’m taking baby steps to get to the point of full Hollines where curse words are no longer in my vocabulary.
Scripture to meditate on:
John 2:15: "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them."
I hope this helps someone else who needed to hear this 🫶🏼

As a Christian navigating the challenges of life, many people find themselves grappling with issues such as forgiveness, anxiety, and emotional management. These struggles are not uncommon, and through faith, individuals can find transformative solutions. 1. **Forgiveness** is fundamental in Christian belief. It's a pathway to peace and healing, often encapsulated in Jesus' teaching, urging us to forgive not just once but infinitely. Reflecting on personal grievances can sometimes hinder progress, yet embracing God's command can be liberating. 2. **Trusting God’s Plan** is essential, particularly for those who feel overwhelmed. The journey often includes trials; however, recognizing that these moments are part of a greater purpose can provide comfort. Knowing that God is always in control can help alleviate feelings of abandonment or despair. 3. **Emotional Management** is also vital. The Bible advises believers to be slow to anger and quick to listen (James 1:19), suggesting that self-awareness and emotional regulation are crucial in maintaining spiritual health. 4. **Anxiety and Worry** plague many, especially single parents. It's vital to remember that casting our anxieties onto God allows us to gain strength and clarity during tough times. 5. **The Impact of Secular Influences** echoes throughout our experiences. Filtering music and media in alignment with faith can help cultivate a mindset that is more attuned to holiness. By leaning into scripture for comfort and embracing vulnerability, individuals can step confidently on their journey of faith and self-discovery. Sharing experiences with others experiencing similar challenges can also promote a sense of community and support in the faith-based journey.
