Early 7am flightsâ¨
Work trips that start at 2am 𼚠#worktrip #travel #Workandtravel
Taking an early 7am flight for work often means starting your day at an ungodly hour, like 2 or 3AM, which can be exhausting but sometimes unavoidable. From personal experience, preparation is key: setting multiple alarms, packing everything the night before, and prepping light snacks to stay energized. Navigating airport logistics after such little sleep can be tricky. For example, arriving at the airport only to realize you parked in the wrong lot can throw a wrench in your plans. Also, the security lines (which in some airports can stretch over two floors) require patience, so wearing easy-to-remove shoes and having your documents handy streamlines the process. Once you finally reach the gate, the adrenaline of sprinting while the plane is boarding kicks in. I've had flights where timing was so tight that I barely made it aboard, only to face an unexpected delay due to maintenance issues. When dealing with delayed flights, it helps to stay calm and use the downtime productivelyâcatching up on emails or planning your day. Connecting flights add another layer of complexity, especially when time is short. On one occasion, running through the airport sweating and worried about missing the connection, the airline staff actually held the plane for us, which felt like a small miracle! After finally landing and collecting a rental car, it's important to take a moment for fresh air and hydration before heading to the hotel and diving into work. Meals such as grabbing a quick dinner at a familiar place help recharge. While these early flight days are arduous and leave you utterly exhausted, I've found the experience builds resilience and time management skills essential for frequent work travelers. Remember to focus on self-care when you canâsleep, nutrition, and short breaks make a big difference in sustaining productivity on hectic travel days.
