similar to the last blonde post i did, i'm not gonna give exact directions to do it at home because it's quite a difficult process (especially while working with bleach). even as a professional i'm hesitant to do it myself because i can't see what the back of my head is gonna look like 🫣 so i'd recommend finding a professional you trust or a friend you trust to see the back of your head! BUT i can give some tips on blonde maintenance! these include:
🧸 hair masks!!! i like joico's k-pak for a protein treatment that repairs the hair, or mielle's rosemary and mint strengthening mask if your hair needs extra moisture and protection ☺️
🧸 purple shampoo won't make your hair lighter, but it will temporarily tone out any unwanted brass!
🧸 if you want to refresh your hair yourself, research a good toner that matches the type of blonde you want (ion and wella are great accessible choices!).
🧸 be cautious if you're gonna go swimming very soon after lightening your hair, salty water can dry out the hair more and chlorine can stain the hair a greenish hue (funnily enough, you can use ketchup as a mask to counteract any green). wait about 2 weeks after lightening to play it safe :)
