How Kids See Rain
Poll: How do you see rain?

Rain often brings different feelings depending on our age and mindset. From my personal experience, as a kid, rain was always a source of endless fun. I remember jumping into puddles, letting the droplets drench me while laughing uncontrollably. It was a simple joy—*splish* and *splash* everywhere, completely carefree. That playful view of rain as an opportunity to explore and enjoy contrasts sharply with an adult’s perspective. As adults, rain usually signals chores and inconveniences. We tend to see it as a hindrance—bringing muddy shoes, wet clothes, and more cleanup. The comic perfectly captures this contrast: kids see rain as a chance for play, while adults focus on the aftermath, like “all done!” with extra work. Observing this difference reminds me to occasionally embrace the childlike joy of rain and not just its burdens. This comic also calls attention to how our perception shapes our experiences. When we view rain negatively, it can diminish our mood. But approaching it with a child’s wonder rediscovering small pleasures in nature enriches our day. Next time it rains, try stepping outside to feel the raindrops or watch children enjoying the splash—it’s a refreshing reminder to appreciate simple moments. Through this playful lens, rain becomes less of a nuisance and more an invitation to joy and connection with the world around us.
