Rest and recover
Finally recovering 💪🏻
After days of feeling weak, tired and completely drained…
I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.
Not 100%.
Not fully strong.
But better.
Breathing easier.
Body lighter.
Heart calmer.
And honestly, you don’t realise how much you push through sickness as a mum still showing up, still caring, still holding everything together until your body forces you to slow down.
Grateful for rest.
Grateful for support.
Grateful for the little moments of care that made these hard days softer.
Healing isn’t instant.
But progress is progress 🔥
Recovering from illness, especially as a busy mum, is truly a challenging journey. From my own experience, I know how easy it is to push through the fatigue and keep going, often ignoring your body’s signals for rest. When I was unwell, even the simplest tasks felt overwhelming, yet the constant demands of family and work required me to show up and keep everything together. It wasn’t until I allowed myself to slow down and prioritize rest that I began to notice real improvements. One key thing I learned is the power of small, mindful moments of self-care: a warm cup of tea, a few deep breaths, or simply sitting quietly for a few minutes can lighten the load on both body and mind. Support from loved ones also plays an essential role. Having someone to share the caregiving responsibilities, or just to listen, makes those difficult days much more manageable. Healing is rarely a straight path. Some days you might feel nearly back to normal, and other days, the tiredness returns with a vengeance. Patience is vital; progress—even if slow—is still progress. Celebrate the small victories, like breathing easier or feeling your heart calm, as these signal your body is on the mend. For mums balancing motherhood and work, it’s important to recognize that rest isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Your wellbeing directly affects how you care for others, so investing time in recovery is a gift to both yourself and your family. Remember, strength is not just about powering through but knowing when to pause and restore. If you’re currently recovering, be gentle with yourself. Track your improvements in small ways, and don’t hesitate to seek support. Embrace rest as a vital part of healing, and trust that with time, your body will regain its strength and lightness. Progress may not be instant, but every step forward counts on this recovery journey.
