Braidout on Mini Twists | Natural Hairstyles
Decided to do a Braidout on my mini twist! I used #thedoux texture foam to braid the mini twists into 6 braids. Let dry overnight, and took them down in the morning.

It's truly amazing how a simple technique can completely transform your natural hair! My recent braidout on mini twists, enhanced by "The Doux Texture foam," gave me the most stunning, defined curls I've had in a while. If you're like me, always on the hunt for the latest natural hair twist styles that deliver beautiful results without heat, then you're in for a treat. Mini twists themselves are a fantastic protective style, offering versatility and much-needed rest for your strands. But the magic truly happens when you unravel them or, even better, create a braidout from them! This method uses mini twists as a foundation, braiding those twists into larger sections, which then gives a unique, crinkled curl pattern that's different from a standard twist-out. It’s a brilliant way to achieve incredibly defined curly hair. Many people wonder about the difference between a braidout and a twist-out, or how various braiding techniques impact the final curl. A traditional twist-out, where you unravel two-strand twists, often yields a softer, wavier curl. A braidout, on the other hand, especially when done on existing twists, tends to give a more defined, almost zig-zag pattern, creating incredible volume and stretch. This is why it's a go-to for achieving those 'curly hair' looks that truly pop. For those interested in other braided styles for curls, like the popular '2 French braids curly hair' look, the principle is similar. Whether you're doing French braids, Dutch braids, or even simple three-strand braids, the hair molds to the pattern of the braid. Once dry and gently taken down, you're left with gorgeous, heatless waves or curls. The tighter the braid and the smaller the sections, the more defined the resulting curl will be. For example, two French braids will give you larger, looser waves, while a braidout on mini twists (like mine!) provides a much tighter, more intricate curl pattern. The key to success in any of these styles, from mini twist braidouts to French braid waves, lies in product choice and technique. Using a setting foam or mousse, like "The Doux Texture foam," is a game-changer. It provides hold without crunchiness, reduces frizz, and enhances shine, ensuring your curls are not only defined but also last longer. I always make sure my hair is slightly damp, not soaking wet, when applying the foam and braiding. This allows for proper drying time and prevents frizz. When it's time to take down your braidout or any braided style, patience is crucial. Gently unravel each section, applying a little oil to your fingertips to minimize frizz and add extra shine. Don't pull or comb through immediately. Separate the curls with your fingers for volume, or leave them as is for maximum definition. A good bonnet or silk pillowcase at night will help preserve your beautiful, defined natural hair twist styles for days. Experiment with different braid patterns and products to find what works best for your hair type and desired 'curly hair' look. You'll be amazed at the versatility of your natural hair!
