nara smith made me bake banana bread

do we all love Nara Smith on tiktok??!! shes growing on me & keeping me in touch with my feminine side.

3 very ripe bananas, (medium/large)

½ cup unsalted butter, (8 Tbsp) at room temperature

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs, lightly beaten

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ tsp vanilla extract

1 cup walnuts

½ cup dates (or raisins)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a bread loaf pan (9.25 long x 5.25 wide x 2.75 deep) or two 7inch Bundt pans. Lightly roast walnuts on a skillet, continuously stirring so they won’t burn. Coarsely chop and cool to room temperature.

In a mixing bowl, cream together 8 Tbsp softened butter and 3/4 cup sugar (or honey if using honey).

Mash bananas with a fork until the consistency of chunky applesauce and add them to the batter along with 2 eggs, mixing until blended.

In a separate bowl, whisk together: 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 tsp of salt then add to batter.

Add 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract and mix in chopped walnuts and raisins. Pour into prepared loaf pan. Bake at 350ËšF for 55-60 min or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let banana bread rest for 10 min before transferring to a wire rack to cool.

... Read moreEver since I discovered Nara Smith's videos, I've been so inspired to get back into the kitchen and embrace that wholesome, homemade vibe. Her aesthetic is just *chef's kiss*, and it totally motivated me to bake this banana bread. It's not just a recipe; it's a whole experience that makes you feel so cozy and accomplished! The Secret to Seriously Good Banana Bread The magic really starts with your bananas. Don't be shy about using those super ripe, spotty ones – the browner, the better! They're packed with natural sweetness and moisture, which is key for that perfect, tender crumb. If your bananas aren't quite there yet, a little trick is to bake them in their skins on a baking sheet at 300°F (150°C) for about 15-20 minutes until they're black and soft. Let them cool, then proceed with the recipe! Another pro tip I've learned is not to overmix the batter. Once you've combined the wet and dry ingredients, mix just until everything is incorporated. Overmixing can lead to a tough, dense banana bread, and we definitely want that light, fluffy texture that melts in your mouth. Mastering the Bundt Loaf (Just Like the Pictures!) One thing I adore about this recipe is how beautifully it turns out in a Bundt pan – it makes the banana bread look so elegant, almost like a cake! To ensure your mini banana bread Bundt loaf releases perfectly every time, take a moment to properly prepare your pan. I like to use a baking spray with flour, or generously grease it with butter and then dust it with flour, tapping out any excess. Make sure to get into all those nooks and crannies of the design! This extra step saves so much frustration later on. And remember, let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack. This helps it set and prevents it from sticking or breaking. Elevate Your Banana Bread: Fun Variations While the original recipe with walnuts and dates is divine, don't be afraid to customize it! I sometimes like to add a handful of chocolate chips (dark chocolate is my favorite!) for an extra treat. A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg can also add a lovely warmth and spice, especially if you're making this around the holidays. For a different texture, try pecans or macadamia nuts instead of walnuts. You could even drizzle a simple cream cheese glaze or just a dusting of powdered sugar over the cooled loaf for an extra touch of sweetness and presentation. Serving and Storing Your Homemade Delight This banana bread is truly versatile. It's incredible warm with a dollop of butter for breakfast, perfect with your afternoon coffee, or even as a light dessert. What I love most is that it tastes even better the next day as the flavors meld. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or in the refrigerator for about a week. It also freezes beautifully! Just slice it up, wrap the slices individually, and freeze for up to 3 months. When you're ready for a treat, just pop a slice in the microwave for a few seconds, and it's like freshly baked again. Happy baking, everyone!
