Must sees for your first time in Dubrovnik!

Dubrovnik was such a magical, medieval city and the views here were gorgeous! There was so much to do and it was so fun. Here were some highlights:

Old Town

-definitely stay within the city walls in the old town. Everything is so walkable within the walls and so easy to explore

Buza Bar

-the coolest bar I’ve been to with gorgeous sunset views right on the water. They even have lots of spots to cliff jump off the rocks and it’s so fun to watch

Belvedere beach

-outside the city walls but a short uber ride away. Such a gorgeous beach with cliff jumping, sand and the prettiest water

Panorama restaurant

-the prettiest views overlooking the whole city!! Uber to the top or take the cable car! Literally unreal views.

Walk the walls

-we went early in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat. The coolest views of the old town and the ocean, definitely a must!

Based on a 3-day itinerary, start by settling into accommodation near or inside the Old Town walls to stay close to major attractions and enjoy the most walkable areas. Staying near the famous Shame Stairs offers a central starting point for exploring. Begin your wandering by soaking in the medieval charm of the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site with cobblestone streets, historic architecture, and vibrant markets. For breathtaking views, timing your walk along the city walls early in the morning is key to beat crowds and heat, allowing serene panoramas of the Adriatic Sea and terracotta-roofed buildings. Don't miss the Buza Bar, perched on cliffs just outside the city walls. It offers some of the best sunset vistas and the unique thrill of cliff jumping — a popular local pastime safely enjoyed by tourists and residents alike. Observing others jump while relaxing with a drink is a quintessential Dubrovnik experience. A short Uber ride takes you to Belvedere Beach, where the sparkling turquoise sea and smooth sandy areas are perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The cliffs here also invite adventurous cliff jumpers, and the beach’s somewhat secluded vibe provides a peaceful contrast to the busy Old Town. For dining with a view, the Panorama restaurant boasts dramatic overlooks of Dubrovnik’s skyline and the Adriatic coast. You can access it conveniently via cable car or by a more affordable Uber ride. Indulging in local fresh seafood while soaking up these views is highly recommended. To round out your trip, consider booking a boat tour through Airbnb or local providers. These tours reveal hidden bays, nearby islands, and stunning seascapes not accessible by foot. Including such an excursion adds depth and variety to your Dubrovnik visit. By integrating these highlights — Old Town immersion, cliffside bars, beautiful beaches, panoramic dining, city walls hikes, and boat tours — your first Dubrovnik adventure will balance iconic landmarks with authentic experiences. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, carry water, and prepare for warm weather, especially if visiting in summer months. With this itinerary, your time in Dubrovnik is sure to be memorable, magical, and filled with gorgeous views and fun activities.
