Mini Golf, Nostalgia, and Surprises at Castle Park

There’s something oddly magical about Sherman Oaks Castle Park. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, but it has this nostalgic charm that just instantly makes you feel like a kid again. I went thinking I’d just hit a few balls around the mini golf course, but ended up staying for hours—laughing, competing, and maybe getting a little too serious about beating my personal best.

The mini golf courses here aren’t just whimsical—they’re surprisingly tricky. There are easy shots to boost your confidence and then suddenly you’re humbled by a sneaky ramp or uneven slope. And honestly, that’s what makes it so fun. You never quite know what’s coming next.

But what really sealed the deal for me was the batting cages and arcade. After mini golf, we headed to the cages, and even though my swing’s definitely not MLB material, it was a blast. Then a quick trip into the arcade brought back a flood of memories—tokens in hand, aiming for those prize tickets.

Castle Park isn’t trying to be a luxury destination—it’s just pure, uncomplicated fun. And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
