Managing pre-diabetes and diabetes requires careful attention to diet to help control blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of complications. Incorporating whole grains, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats into your meals is essential for stable glucose regulation. For breakfast, options such as oatmeal with scrambled tofu and blueberries, whole grain toast with avocado and egg whites, and low-fat milk with sugar-free syrup can provide beneficial nutrients without causing sugar spikes. Including fiber-rich berries and vegetables like asparagus and mushrooms supports digestion and insulin sensitivity. Lunch meals should focus on balanced portions of lean protein and vegetables, such as spicy chicken stuffed bell peppers, tomato and cucumber salad, tuna with whole grain toast, or chickpea and lentil soup enhanced with fresh herbs. These meals are rich in fiber and protein, aiding in blood sugar stabilization and prolonged satiety. Dinners featuring broccoli quinoa bowls, chicken with brown rice, salmon with Brussels sprouts, and vegetable stir-fries deliver a combination of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that promote metabolic health. Using olive oil, vinegar, mustard, and salsa as healthy condiments helps enhance flavor without adding excess sugars or unhealthy fats. In addition to meal choices, limiting alcohol intake is important for diabetes management, as alcohol can affect blood sugar levels unpredictably. Staying hydrated with unsweetened beverages like iced tea and skim milk supports overall well-being. In summary, choosing foods that emphasize 100% whole grains, a variety of vegetables (such as kale, cucumbers, green beans, and tomatoes), fruits with low glycemic impact (like apples and berries), and lean proteins (skinless chicken, salmon, tofu) is key to managing pre-diabetes and diabetes effectively. These meal plans, combined with mindful portion control and lifestyle adjustments, can facilitate blood sugar control, reduce medication dependency, and improve quality of life.

Thanks for posting this. I found out in Sept of 2024 that I was pre diabetic. I went low sugar and low carb as soon as I found out and lost close to 30 lbs I was at 6.1 but sadly only went down to a 6.0 A1C. So I started taking Berberine In July this year and haven't retested yet tho. I also maintaining close to 28lb of weight loss now. I'm 49 and I try to go by the 80/20 rule. Meaning I take it one day at a time and 80 percent of the day or week I try to make the right choices w food. The other 20 percent can sometimes be cheat meals or snacks here and there. . Also I work out every other day for 2-2.5 hours per day plus I work blue collar physical job 7 days a week. 1 day for 6 hours the other days for 3 hours. So I'm very active I can usually handle say one sugar item per day. Hope ur doing ok ! I'm going to follow you
