The Ethiopian flag, with its vibrant green, yellow, and red stripes, is more than just a symbol—it's a representation of history, resilience, and identity. Green stands for the land’s fertility, renewal, and hope. Yellows represent peace and harmony among Ethiopia’s diverse peoples. Red pays tribute to the sacrifices made throughout the country's history for freedom and justice. For me, while the American flag reflects my current home and opportunities, the Ethiopian flag embodies my heritage and ancestral pride. Celebrating the Ethiopian flag also brings me closer to my community, where cultural festivals and shared stories revolve around these colors and symbols. It’s a reminder of unity despite challenges and a connection that spans continents. This duality of flags resonates with many who balance multiple cultural identities. Embracing both flags allows us to honor where we come from and where we are going, creating a rich, layered sense of belonging. The Ethiopian flag, as my second flag, continues to inspire and affirm my roots every day.
