... Read moreReading through everyone's 'what if' and 'I wish I had' moments really hit home, proving that regret is a deeply human experience we all share. It's fascinating how diverse yet relatable these major regrets can be, touching on everything from relationships to finances, career paths, and even personal well-being. So many of us, for example, grapple with financial regrets. I've heard countless stories, similar to some I saw here, about wishing they'd learned to budget and save money sooner. It's easy to fall into traps like an online shopping addiction, leading to maxed-out credit cards, or simply not making the most of opportunities like saving stimulus checks. These financial missteps often lead to a lot of stress and a powerful 'what does regret feel like' moment when we look back. Then there are the regrets tied to relationships and personal choices. Who hasn't wondered about giving a cheating ex another chance, or perhaps not having the confidence to leave a situation sooner, like moving to Florida and later wishing they hadn't? These personal 'regret lines' often highlight missed opportunities for self-advocacy or a clearer path forward. And let's not forget the heartfelt 'I wish I hads' about more time with loved ones, like not spending enough time with a beloved chihuahua before they passed away unexpectedly. Career and educational choices also feature heavily in a list of regrets. The pressure to choose the right college major – and the regret of not changing it when facing challenges like carpal tunnel from instruments – is a common theme. Not pursuing certifications like CPR, which could open doors to a first job, also stands out as a 'major regret' for some. These 'what if' scenarios make us reflect on the paths not taken and the skills we could have acquired. And finally, the often-overlooked regrets related to mental health and personal growth. Many express regret over letting anxiety and depression hold them back, or not managing money better due to these struggles. There's also the poignant sentiment of not leaving a hometown when younger, wishing for more courage to explore and grow. These 'so many regrets' truly paint a picture of our shared human vulnerabilities and desires for a life lived more fully. While it's easy to get stuck in the cycle of 'what does regret feel like,' acknowledging these feelings is often the first step toward growth. Each 'I wish I had' can be a powerful lesson, guiding our future decisions and helping us make peace with the past. It's about learning, adapting, and ultimately, moving forward with more intention.

The only “regret” I can think of, is when I was a business major in college, with my own side hustle business, I had too much product, and instead of selling it, I gave it away for free. No profit margin, no sales. The company eventually kinda got shut down, and I changed my major again.

This is me. I’m glad that so many people were vulnerable enough to voice their biggest regrets in life. My biggest regret in life was not completing my college education and then not pursuing to finish it afterwards.
