... Read moreOkay, let's be real. Who else sometimes finds themselves scrolling through old school photos, suddenly hit with a wave of nostalgia and thinking, 'Wow, I actually miss school?' It sounds crazy, right? Especially if, like me, you spent half your school years counting down the days until summer or graduation! But lately, with all the pressures of 'adulting' – bills, careers, endless responsibilities – I've been pondering why I miss school so much, even though I swore I hated it. One of the biggest reasons, for me at least, is the sheer lack of *adult stress*. Remember when your biggest worry was a pop quiz or finishing a project? Now it's mortgage payments, career ladders, and making sure you have enough healthy snacks for the week! There was a comfort in the structured routine of school. You knew what your day looked like, what was expected of you, and honestly, someone else was usually in charge of the really important stuff. That feeling of 'less responsibility' is a huge draw back to those days. Then there's the social aspect. Oh, the friends! I miss the constant 'social interaction' of seeing friends every single day, whether it was gossiping in the hallway, eating lunch together, or struggling through group projects. Life as an adult can feel so isolating sometimes, and it takes so much more effort to maintain those connections. Back then, friendships felt so effortless, didn't they? The OCR mentions Deja Lanae and julie discussing missing school for social interaction, and I totally get that. It wasn't just about 'no classes with friends,' but having a built-in community. And what about 'dreaming about the future'? When you're in school, the world feels full of possibilities. You're constantly looking forward to what's next – college, a first job, moving out. Now that we're in the 'future,' sometimes it feels less like a dream and more like a never-ending to-do list! Even the idea of having a 'passion for learning' without the pressure of grades sounds appealing now, something Tiger_Mama touched upon. Of course, not everyone misses it. Some, like lasinaloensebakery, might prefer 'working for money over school,' and others, like Flor, might have found school boring but still miss the reduced responsibility. And Natalia only missed 'school breaks,' which is fair enough! It's a complex feeling, this yearning for a time that wasn't always perfect, but perhaps felt simpler. So, if you've ever asked yourself, 'why do I miss school so much?' or 'why do I miss school even though I hated it?', know that you're not alone. It's a common sentiment, often rooted in a desire for less stress, more free time, and the easy camaraderie of youth. What are your 'good reasons to miss school'? I'm genuinely curious to hear what aspects of school life you find yourself longing for now that you're navigating the grown-up world.

I definitely miss school. less responsibility, more me time. getting to do things on the schools dime. ooo how I wish I would have applied for more trips through the school than I did. and the fact they used to pay for any classes they didn't offer. I should have took more advantage than just one class.

Why is making friends as an adult so hard??
Nobody prepared me for how hard it was going to be to make friends as an adult. When you’re in school you have this built in pool of people to socialize with - there’s shared spaces, experiences, shared goals. Now that I’m an adult everyone has their own lives and routines, and finding time or
