... Read moreIt's a bittersweet truth, isn't it? The idea that friends aren't always 'friends forever.' I've been reflecting a lot lately on how friendships evolve, and sometimes, well, they just don't last. It’s an unpopular opinion for some, but I truly believe that not every connection is meant to be permanent, and that's perfectly okay. I've personally experienced the sting of friends becoming distant, and it can leave you feeling a deep sense of disappointment, like a mini-breakup. You start to question everything, asking yourself, 'Why are we no longer friends?' What I've learned from my own journey, and from hearing so many of your powerful stories, is that people change. We grow, we adapt, our priorities shift, and sometimes, those changes mean we simply outgrow each other. It’s not always dramatic; often, it’s a slow fade into becoming distant from friends, a gradual understanding that a beautiful chapter is closing. Like many shared, the pandemic especially brought about more friendship endings since Covid, forcing us to re-evaluate who truly aligned with our lives. It really hit me that some friendships are truly temporary friendships, meant for a specific season or purpose in our lives. The tough part is accepting that 'our friendship is over,' even when it hurts. I’ve read about experiences where individuals had to make the difficult choice of cutting off friends due to ulterior motives, recognizing that some bonds weren't serving their highest good. It takes immense strength to close those doors, but sometimes, it's necessary for your own peace and growth. And you know, sometimes, it's a mutual understanding that it's time to move on, even if it’s sad. For those of us who've had to navigate a friendship breakup, the initial thought might be, 'how to get a friend back?' But in my own reflection on friendship and hearing others, it often comes down to accepting what is. We can cherish past times and the memories we made, truly valuing the impact those people had on us, even if they're no longer in our daily lives. It's a reminder that every person who enters our lives leaves a mark, and we learn from every connection, whether it’s a lifelong bond or a fleeting one. The most important thing is to allow yourself to feel the emotions, process the change, and understand that making peace with these shifts is part of life’s journey. It’s okay to acknowledge the 'disappointment friendship breakup' and then find strength in moving forward. So, if you're wondering why your friends are becoming distant, or thinking 'we didn't just become friends' but now things are different, remember you're not alone in these feelings. It’s a common human experience. Instead of dwelling on 'how to end a friendship by text' or trying to force something that's naturally fading, perhaps focus on self-compassion. Give yourself grace for the connections that change and the ones that remain. Every shift, even a sad one, contributes to our personal growth. 'Dosti badali' (friendship changed) isn't always a negative – it's often a sign of evolving paths.

Let’s Talk: Outgrowing Friendships Is OK
We don’t talk about this enough. It’s one of the hardest things to accept, but it’s also one of the most important for growth. Sometimes we hold onto connections out of history, not harmony. As you evolve, your circle might shift, and that’s okay. Not every friendship is meant to last forever, and
