Don’t cancel your Amex… learn from me 😂

Back in February, I canceled my Amex Gold after two years. The annual fee went up, and honestly, it stopped feeling worth it, I was eating out just to “use the benefits.” So I closed it. Big mistake.

After that, Amex basically ghosted me for over six months. Every time I reapplied, I hit the dreaded pop-up jail. My credit score stayed solid (around 780–810), but Amex just said no.

Finally tried again last week, no pop-up this time! Got the approval email the next day 🙌.

Anyone else ever been stuck in Amex pop-up jail? Do you think it’s annual fee really worth it?
