Ootd half day as a pediatric MA💉

2025/8/2 Edited to

... Read moreFinding cute pediatric scrubs can truly brighten your day, and more importantly, the kids' too! When I first started as a pediatric MA, I thought scrubs were just a uniform. But I quickly learned how much a little color and comfort can change everything about your workday, and even how patients interact with you. My go-to red scrubs, like the ones I'm wearing in my OOTD, consistently get smiles and sometimes even compliments from my young patients. Here are some tips I've picked up for choosing and styling cute scrubs for your pediatric shifts: 1. Embrace Color and Subtle Patterns: Beyond just classic red scrubs, vibrant colors like sky blue, cheerful yellow, or even soothing pastels can be wonderful choices. Kids are naturally drawn to bright, friendly hues! I've seen other MAs wear scrubs with subtle, kid-friendly patterns (think tiny stars or playful animals), which are always a hit. Just make sure they align with your clinic's dress code and aren't too distracting during patient care. I personally love solid colors, especially my red ones, because they’re easy to mix and match with different under-scrubs or accessories, allowing for a fresh look even with the same set. 2. Comfort is Non-Negotiable: Working a half-day or a full shift as a pediatric MA means you're constantly on your feet, bending, lifting, and moving. So, comfort is absolutely essential. Look for scrubs made from soft, stretchy, and breathable fabric. My Figs scrubs are a lifesaver because they move with me, preventing any restriction or discomfort throughout the day. You definitely don't want to be constantly adjusting your outfit when you're focusing on patient care. A good fit, not too tight or too baggy, also makes a huge difference in both comfort and how your outfit looks. 3. Smart Styling for Your Scrub Outfit: It’s not just about the scrubs themselves! What you wear underneath, like my black long-sleeved top, can add warmth and a touch of personal style. During cooler months, a black long-sleeved top or even a fun, coordinating colored one can make your scrub outfit feel more complete and cozy. I also pay close attention to my footwear – comfortable, slip-resistant shoes are crucial, and sometimes a cute color or pattern on your shoes can add that extra 'cute' factor. Subtle accessories, like a fun badge reel or a simple hair tie, can also add personality without getting in the way of patient care. 4. Where to Find Them: You don't always have to break the bank to find cute pediatric scrubs. While I adore my Figs, there are many other brands offering stylish and comfortable options at various price points. Keep an eye out for sales, and don't be afraid to mix and match tops and bottoms from different brands. Sometimes, a well-chosen top paired with a basic pair of bottoms can create a whole new cute outfit. Online communities and specialized medical supply stores are often great resources for finding deals and discovering new brands. 5. The Impact of a Friendly Appearance: The truth is, a cute and friendly appearance can make a significant difference, especially with nervous young patients. When I wear my cheerful red scrubs or another thoughtfully assembled outfit, I often find that kids are a little more relaxed and open to me. It's not about being overly fashionable, but about creating a warm, approachable, and professional vibe. It's amazing how a simple outfit choice for your half-day can positively impact your interactions and make your day more enjoyable. So next time you're picking out your pediatric MA outfit, remember to think 'cute and comfy!'
