How I got my husband to model my new shirt design 😏

When it comes to my small business my husband isn’t the greatest at helping me come up with new ideas, physically making the products, or packing the orders. Those are all things out of his area of expertise. But when he saw my shirts I had to explain the Enemies to Lovers trope and all the great fictional men we have in our books because of it. After that he suddenly decided that there was a way he could help me with my small business and if nothing else he could at least model the shirts for me. 😂

A limited number of these shirts are going up for pre-order in my shop soon! I’ll make another post about it when they do. If you have any ideas for a shirt design you’d like to see please let me know!

And also let me know if you have any funny stories about your partners and book boyfriends!

... Read moreRunning a small business means wearing many hats, but sometimes it’s the unexpected help that makes a difference. Even though my husband isn’t the go-to for designing or creating products, his enthusiasm sparked when I explained the Enemies to Lovers trope and the iconic fictional men in those stories. It reminded me how powerful storytelling is—even in merchandising. If you’re a fellow creator, involving family or friends in your journey, even in small ways like modeling or promoting your products, can boost confidence and add charm to your brand. Plus, it’s a real bonding experience! The Enemies to Lovers theme resonates with so many because of its emotional depth and relatable character growth. Bringing this concept into apparel taps into a passionate audience of book lovers and romance fans. From personal experience, pre-order launches create buzz and allow you to gauge interest while managing inventory carefully. Engaging your community by asking what designs they'd like to see fosters connection and fresh ideas. And if your partner gets involved, it can turn into a fun story for your customers, making your merchandise feel more authentic and appealing. Bookish merchandise is booming, and combining it with popular romance tropes like Enemies to Lovers gives your products a niche edge. It’s not just about selling shirts; it’s about celebrating stories and characters that people adore. Whether your partner models your products or you share quirky behind-the-scenes moments, these personal touches can enhance your small business’s charm and customer loyalty.
