🐾Sushi- My first rescue. I went to my local shelter to find a kitten. Everyone was sleeping until she peeled herself out of a kitten pile to be in my arms. I knew she had to come home with me forever.
🐾Salem- My second rescue. I came across Salem when I started my journey working in animal welfare. I was on my break sitting in the cat room and he came and sat with me the whole time. I took him home to foster and let’s just say he never went back to the shelter 😅.
🐾Nemo- My third rescue. Nemo was found at 3 weeks old at a mechanic shop. When he arrived to the shelter he was dirty and very hungry. I offered to learn how to bottle feed kittens so I could give him a good chance of survival. He was the size of my hand and easily the smallest kitten I’ve ever seen at the time. He ended up being my second foster fail and now one of my largest cats.
🐾Dewy- My fourth rescue. Dewey was found abandoned at an animal hospital with 6 other siblings. They all came to our shelter and as we scrambled to find fosters, I chose to take him and one of his brothers temporarily. I ended up keeping them until they were old enough to find a new home. His brother was adopted however, I could not part with little Dewey so he was added to my clan. Therefore being my third foster fail.

Whether you're looking to adopt or foster, every little step counts in the journey toward providing care and love to these incredible beings. Getting involved in animal welfare can start with simple actions such as spreading awareness about the importance of adoption, volunteering at local shelters, or even supporting organizations working towards animal rescue. Everyone has the power to make a difference in the lives of abandoned pets, ensuring they receive the love and care they truly deserve. Furthermore, educating others about the responsibilities of pet ownership creates a ripple effect in our communities.
