🖤🎃

A fun pumpkin photo shoot I did with my family this fall. Turned out better than I expected. I made the pumpkin 🎃 heads myself using hollow foam pumpkins I purchased at Michael’s. Using a hot knife (and a respirator) i drew the facial features of my desire and cut them out using the hot knife (this was a long and dangerous process, please use welding gloves)

then I proceeded with painting the edges of the cut out black and glued black see through fabric on the inside.

I also added holes around the facial features so I could thread burlap string to give it character! I also dry brushed some black paint to “weather” the pumpkin heads!

I truly loved how they turned out!

One popular idea is to create unique pumpkin decorations that can serve as both art pieces and photo props. Begin by selecting hollow foam pumpkins, which provide a lightweight and safe alternative to traditional pumpkins. These can be easily crafted and modified to suit your creative designs. When designing your pumpkin heads, consider using tools like a hot knife to carve out intricate facial features. Always prioritize safety while using such tools, wearing protective gloves and a respirator if necessary. After carving, a black paint application can enhance the overall aesthetic, especially when dry brushed for a weathered look. Adding personal touches is essential; consider using fabric or string to personalize your designs further. Threading burlap string through your pumpkin heads can create an extra layer of character while adding texture. As you prepare for your family photo shoot, think about coordinating outfits that complement your pumpkin creations. Black outfits or gothic-themed clothing can add a whimsical touch to the overall vibe, emphasizing the Halloween spirit. Capture candid moments that reflect the joy of the season, and don't forget to enjoy the creative process with your loved ones!
