Have you ever tried walking up the stairs carrying a big suitcase? 🧳 It’s rough, right? Now imagine trying it with TWO suitcases 🧳🧳, a backpack 🎒, and maybe even a trash bag full of garbage 🗑️. Sounds exhausting just thinking about it. And that’s exactly what it feels like when we’re trying to ELEVATE ⬆️ in life while dragging around emotional, spiritual, or relational baggage 🧠💔.
This morning, after listening to someone talk about letting go, God dropped a message in my heart:
“You can’t CLIMB when you’re carrying too much.” 🪜✝️
Some of us are trying to go higher with:
• Unforgiveness in one hand 🤜🏾
• Regret in the other 🤛🏾
• Past relationships on our back 💼
• Shame stuffed in a trash bag behind us 🗑️
No wonder we feel stuck! 😩 It’s not that God hasn’t opened the door 🚪—it’s that we can’t climb the stairs to get there because we’re carrying stuff He never told us to pick up in the first place ❌🙅🏾♀️.
So how do you know what to let go of? That’s where prayer 🙏🏾 and discernment 🧠 come in. Ask God:
“What am I carrying that’s keeping me from moving forward?” He’ll show you. He’ll even help you release it—if you’re willing ❤️🩹.
It reminds me of Erykah Badu’s song Bag Lady:
“Bag lady, you gon’ hurt your back, draggin’ all them bags like that.” 🧳
And if we’re not careful, we’ll miss our MOMENT ⏳ because we’re holding on to our MESS 🧺.
Let it go, fam. You don’t have to carry it anymore. ✌🏾

In today's fast-paced world, many of us carry unseen burdens that hinder our progress. Emotional, spiritual, and relational baggage can weigh us down, making it difficult to move forward. Overcoming these obstacles requires self-awareness and a willingness to let go. Common emotional baggage includes past hurts, unresolved conflicts, or fear of abandonment. These can lead to feelings of anger, resentment, and sadness. To heal, it’s essential to confront these feelings and work through them. Embracing forgiveness is a powerful step; it frees both us and others from past grievances. Incorporating practices such as mindfulness and meditation can also aid in processing these emotions. Journaling can serve as an effective tool for reflection and acknowledgment of our feelings, allowing us to release the weight we carry. Seeking support from friends, mentors, or even professionals can provide valuable perspectives to help navigate through life’s challenges. Additionally, engaging in community activities or spiritual practices can foster a sense of belonging and uplift our spirits. Remember, by letting go of what no longer serves you, you create space for new opportunities and experiences that lead to positive growth. "Make space for joy by releasing what weighs you down." This mindset opens the door to living a more fulfilled and authentic life.
