Quiet Spaces, Clear Voices
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Good evening family 💜🌙 I pray your day was filled with GRACE✨ and PEACE🕊️. Tonight I want to talk about something we ALL need but often overlook—SILENCE🤫 in the life of a BELIEVER✝️.
Yesterday, I was in FELLOWSHIP💞 with some dear friends👭🏾 from my Bible study group, and we began talking about how the HOLY SPIRIT💨 often speaks the CLEAREST when we are ALONE🚪. That’s not a coincidence—it’s BIBLICAL📖. JESUS Himself would slip away⛰️ into quiet places to PRAY and be with the Father. If HE—the SON of GOD🌟—needed SILENCE, how much more do WE❓
Here’s the truth: SILENCE is not EASY😅. You might sit down and immediately think of laundry🧺, bills💵, or tomorrow’s to-do list📋. But keep PUSHING💪🏾. Be INTENTIONAL⚡. Practice QUIETNESS🧘🏾♀️ until your racing thoughts SLOW⏳. Over time, His VOICE will become more DISTINCT🎤 and His PRESENCE more TANGIBLE💖.
💡 Try this: pick a quiet spot—your bedroom🛏️, your kitchen🍵, even your car🚗. Set aside TIME⏳, even 10 minutes. Pray simply, “Speak, Lord, I’m listening.”🙌🏾 And then—WAIT. God WILL meet you there.
📖 Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾:
🕊️Be still and know that I am God. (Ps 46:10)
🕊️My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)

Hey beautiful family! Following up on our chat about the power of silence, I know many of you might be wondering, 'Is this correct? Am I truly doing it right?' It’s a completely valid question because, let's be honest, quieting our minds in today’s noisy world feels almost impossible. But I promise you, this sacred practice is not just 'correct,' it’s profoundly biblical and a game-changer for your spiritual life. I used to struggle so much with finding that quiet space the original post mentioned. My mind would race with everything from grocery lists to work deadlines, and I'd often give up, thinking, 'This just isn't for me.' But I learned that the struggle is part of the process. It’s like spiritual muscle training! We’re not aiming for an absence of thought, but rather a redirection of our focus. When those distracting thoughts flood in, gently acknowledge them, then bring your attention back to God’s presence. It’s a constant, patient returning. Let’s dive deeper into that powerful phrase from the OCR: "Speak, Lord, I'm listening." It’s more than just words; it’s an posture of the heart. When I say this, I’m not just waiting for an audible voice (though God can do that!). I'm opening myself up to receive in various ways: a gentle nudge in my spirit, a sudden clarity about a decision, a verse from scripture coming to mind with new meaning, or an overwhelming sense of peace that guides my next step. The 'listening' part involves active surrender – letting go of my own agenda and truly being open to whatever God wants to communicate. For those of you who've tried and felt nothing, don't be discouraged! It's a journey, not a destination. Think of it like building any relationship. It takes time, consistency, and vulnerability. Some days, your quiet time might feel incredibly rich, and others, it might feel like you're just sitting there. Both are valuable. The consistency shows God your desire, and He honors that. Maybe try setting a timer for just 5 minutes, then gradually increase it. Your car during your commute, a quiet corner of your bedroom, or even a walk in nature can become your 'sacred space.' To help discern if what you're 'hearing' is truly from God, I've found a few things helpful. Does it align with scripture? Does it bring peace, not anxiety? Does it encourage love, joy, and goodness? God's voice will never contradict His character or His written Word. And remember, He wants to speak to you even more than you want to hear Him. Keep pushing through the initial discomfort, keep practicing, and you will start to experience the profound clarity and peace that comes from truly quieting your heart and saying, "Speak, Lord, I'm listening."
