Not IF, But WHEN Anxiety Attacks!

Let’s pray 🙏🏾 and get this day underway♥️!

Good morning, my beautiful family ☀️🤎🙏🏾

This scripture today is not random. It is NECESSARY for the times we are living in. Psalm 94:19 meets us right where so many of us live, in the place of WORRY 😔, TENSION 😣, and QUIET FEAR 😟 that we do not always have words for.

Anxiety does not always show up looking dramatic. Sometimes it is the TIGHT CHEST 😮‍💨, the RACING THOUGHTS 🌀, the sense of DOOM 😨 without a clear reason. Some need medical support, and that is OK. Others carry anxiety daily and do not even realize that is what it is. Bills 💳, health 🏥, politics 🗳️, image 📱, children 🧒👦🏽, relationships 💔… the list is LONG, and the PRESSURE is REAL.

What stands out to me is that the scripture does not say IF anxiety comes. It says WHEN. That tells us this is a HUMAN experience. David is honest, but he is also HOPEFUL. He tells us what WORKED for him: the CONSOLATION 🤍 of the Lord. Not distraction. Not denial. GOD’S CARE 🫶🏾.

But here is the part we often miss. Resting in God’s consolation requires SURRENDER 🙌🏾, TRUST 🕊️, and FAITH ✨. You can pray, cry, and kneel, then get up and PICK THE WORRY BACK UP. That is not rest. God invites us to LEAVE IT WITH HIM 🧎🏾‍♀️.

Today, choose PEACE 🕊️. Choose JOY 😊. Choose the LORD’S CONSOLATION 🤎. It will CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

From personal experience, I’ve found that recognizing anxiety not only as a possibility but as an inevitable part of life can be a transformative mindset shift. It removes denial and opens the door to seeking real help and peace. What truly changed my perspective was embracing the idea of surrendering my worries rather than constantly trying to control or suppress them. This surrender isn’t about giving up but about trusting a higher power to carry the burdens better than I ever could. Psalm 94:19, which speaks about God's consolation amidst anxious thoughts, has been a beacon of hope. When anxiety feels like a tight chest or racing thoughts without explanation, turning inward to memory verses or prayers can create a calm center amid chaos. I also realized that fixing anxiety with distractions often only offers temporary relief. True rest comes from letting go—picking up prayer, meditation on scriptures like Matthew 11:28–30, and leaning on God's care instead of just trying to push through alone. Importantly, seeking medical support or counseling alongside spiritual practices is a healthy and sometimes necessary step. The prayer image in this article reminds me that safety and joy come from the unbreakable bond with God—in that peace, anxiety loses its grip. Incorporating daily moments of prayer and reflection can replenish hope and bring a shift from fear to faith. For anyone walking this journey, remember: it’s not if anxiety attacks, but when. Preparedness comes from faith, support, and self-compassion. Choosing peace and joy daily, as the author encourages, is both a practice and a gift we can give ourselves to navigate life’s pressures with resilience and grace.
