Abiding is NOT Passive!
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Good evening my beautiful family 🌙🙏🏾. Tonight I want to share something the Lord has been showing me about ABIDING 🌿. A lot of believers say, “I’m just ABIDING IN THE LORD 🙏🏾,” and the image we often get is someone resting or waiting.
But the truth is ABIDING IS NOT PASSIVE ✨.
Abiding is ACTIVE STAYING 🌿. It’s choosing NOT TO RUN AHEAD 🚶🏾♀️, NOT TO RUN AWAY 🏃🏾♀️, and NOT TO REACT 😮💨 when life gets noisy. It’s choosing PRESENCE with Jesus instead of constantly chasing the next ASSIGNMENT 📖🙏🏾.
Sometimes we think we need a BREAKTHROUGH 💥, a SIGN 🔎, or a new STRATEGY 🧭. But many times what we really need is simply to STAY CONNECTED to Him 🌿❤️.
Real SPIRITUAL DEPTH happens when our heart says, “Lord, I just want to LOVE YOU, FOLLOW YOU, and STAY CLOSE.” 🙏🏾✨ When we stay connected to the VINE, the FRUIT will grow in His timing 🌱🍇.
🕊️Scriptures to Meditate On🙏🏾
John 15:4
Psalm 91:1

From my own journey, I’ve realized that abiding in the Lord goes far beyond just pausing or waiting. It’s a daily, conscious decision to remain present with Jesus even amidst life’s chaos. This active staying means when stress or distractions arise, instead of reacting impulsively or escaping, I choose to pause and focus on His presence – echoing the phrase seen in the article's image: "just to be in Your presence..." This mindset shift has transformed my faith walk. Instead of chasing signs or breakthrough moments, I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet growth that happens when I’m simply connected to the Vine, as John 15:4 describes. It’s in these moments of active abiding that the fruit of patience, peace, and love slowly emerge in my life. Furthermore, abiding actively challenges the common misconception that being spiritually connected means passivity or inactivity. In reality, it calls for intentionality — resisting the urge to rush ahead or retreat from difficulties. It invites us into a posture of trust and dependence on Jesus, even when there’s no immediate reward or visible progress. Meditating daily on scriptures like Psalm 91:1, which reminds me of God’s sheltering presence, helps reinforce this active commitment. It reassures me that abiding is a powerful act of faith, not just rest. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by constant striving for breakthroughs or signs, consider embracing this idea of abiding as active staying. Choose to stay connected, remain with Jesus in the noise, and watch how your spiritual life bears fruit in His perfect time.
