What’s Your First Move?!
✨A Light 💡in the Night🌙
Hey family 💛👋🏾 Let me ask you something… what is your DEFAULT reaction when life hits you with something HARD 😩💭? Do you PANIC 😨, try to FIX it 🛠️, or break down emotionally 😭? I used to jump straight into SOLVING everything 🧠💨. From small issues to big ones, I wanted CONTROL 🎯.
But God has been shifting me 🙌🏾. My DEFAULT now is PRAYER 🙏🏾 first. Not figuring, not stressing, not moving… just SEEKING GOD 🕊️.
Because when we move in our own STRENGTH 💪🏾, we can make things WORSE 🚫. But when we WAIT ⏳ and invite the HOLY SPIRIT 🔥, we receive WISDOM 📖, PEACE 🕊️, and DIRECTION 🧭.
It’s not easy, especially if you’re a DOER 🚶🏾♀️. But we have to TRAIN our hearts ❤️ to PAUSE ✋🏾 and TRUST GOD 🙌🏾.
Tonight, EXAMINE yourself 🔍. Be HONEST 💯. What is your DEFAULT? If it’s not PRAYER 🙏🏾, RESET 🔄. Go to the FATHER first 👑. Everything changes there 🌿.

From personal experience, I’ve realized that life’s challenges often catch us off guard. Initially, my instinct was to solve problems immediately—jumping into action, trying to control every outcome. But I noticed that rushing in without reflection or prayer often made situations more complicated and increased my stress. Over time, I began adopting a new approach inspired by spiritual teachings: before reacting, I now pause and pray. This practice isn’t about passivity; rather, it invites the Holy Spirit to guide my thoughts and decisions. Waiting patiently for this guidance has brought unexpected clarity and peace, even in the face of difficult scenarios. One night, during a particularly stressful time, I remembered the verse Philippians 4:6–7, which encourages us to present our requests to God with thanksgiving. Applying this helped me exchange anxiety for peace. Likewise, Proverbs 3:5–6 reminded me to trust wholeheartedly instead of relying solely on my understanding. I’ve also found that training myself to pause requires intentional effort—especially as someone who’s used to being a doer. It involved retraining my heart and mind to prioritize spiritual connection over immediate reaction. This reset has reshaped my experiences, making me more resilient and hopeful. If you’re wondering what to pray about first when troubles arise, consider simply inviting God’s presence and asking for wisdom and peace. This essential first step often changes the trajectory of what follows. The phrase from the image, “What should I need to pray we do? about this first...”, resonates deeply because it highlights the value of seeking divine direction before any other move. Incorporating this habit into daily life—whether the challenges are small or overwhelming—can nurture spiritual growth and foster faith over fear. Remember, your first move doesn’t have to be fixing everything; sometimes, it’s pausing to pray, trusting that guidance and strength will come.
