Fake Treehouse Tutorial: The Sims 4✨
I got this build idea from another fellow sims content creator. I thought I saved their video of them making this build but I didn’t and I can’t remember the name of the creator but if anyone knows he or she please share their name in the comments so I can add their name to this, thank you in advance. I built this off memory because it was so easy and genius so I thought I’d share the idea with you all with a tutorial. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comment section below and you can find this build on my gallery.

Hey Simmers! I'm so excited to share more about building these incredible fake treehouses in The Sims 4. When I first saw someone do this, I was blown away by the ingenuity – no custom content needed, just pure game mechanics! It truly transforms your build possibilities and adds such a unique charm to any lot. Why Build a 'Fake' Treehouse in Sims 4? You might be thinking, why go through the trouble of a "fake" treehouse when you can just build a house on stilts? Well, the beauty of this technique is how seamlessly it integrates with the environment, making it feel like a genuine tree-borne structure. It's all about creating that magical, elevated escape that truly blends with the trees around it. Plus, the "no CC" aspect means everyone can try it, regardless of their packs or mod preferences. It’s a fantastic way to stretch your game creatively and make a unique focal point in your Sims' neighborhood. It’s less about a literal treehouse and more about a charming, elevated dwelling amongst the trees, which makes the game feel even more immersive. Unlocking the Magic: A Deeper Dive into the Steps Let's break down some of the key steps to perfect your own Sims 4 fake treehouse, building on what I learned: The Foundation Trick – Starting Small: The initial step of building a single one-tile room is crucial. It acts as a temporary anchor. Building your main 4x7 room directly on top of this tiny base allows you to manipulate the upper structure independently later on. It's like setting up a temporary scaffolding that you'll remove once the main platform is established. This simple trick is the secret sauce to getting that floating effect. Mastering the Platform – Deleting and Lowering: This is where the magic really happens! Once your 4x7 room is built on top, deleting the bottom room and the walls/ceiling of the top room leaves you with just a flat platform. Now, the key is to click on this platform and drag the central arrow down *four levels*. This specific height often works perfectly to give the illusion of a structure nestled within the treetops, rather than just hovering awkwardly above the ground. Experiment with different levels if you want a higher or lower feel, but four levels is a great starting point for that classic treehouse vibe. Adding Structure and Natural Elements: Once your platform is at the perfect height, those short half walls (0.25 height) are your best friends. They form a neat, raised border around your platform, making it look finished and providing a base for railings or fences. And of course, the trees! Placing two large tree trunks on each end of your platform is essential for the treehouse illusion. I love using the bigger, more mature trees available in debug mode or from various packs; they really sell the idea that your house is supported by them. Then, you can lay out the rectangular outline for your actual 4x4 house on this elevated platform. Decorating Your Elevated Oasis: This is the fun part! For the exterior, think about adding fences that complement your tree trunks – wooden ones are always a classic. Don't forget stairs that lead up to your elevated porch! For decoration, string lights wrapped around the tree trunks, as seen in my night view screenshot, add an incredibly cozy and whimsical touch. On the porch, lounge chairs and potted plants create a welcoming outdoor space. Inside your 4x4 house, focus on making it a functional yet intimate space. Since it's small, smart furniture choices are key. Think multi-functional items and warm, inviting decor that makes it feel like a true retreat. I personally love adding lots of windows to maximize the view from up high! Building a fake treehouse in The Sims 4 is such a rewarding experience. It really pushes you to think outside the box with the game's build tools. Whether you're making a simple hideaway or an elaborate treetop mansion, the principles are the same. Don't be afraid to experiment with different tree types, wall coverings, and decorations to make your treehouse uniquely yours. Happy Simming and enjoy your elevated adventures!
