Teen Bedrooms in The Sims 4✨

Ryan and Raegan are teen twins. I haven’t played in their household since they were children so they desperately needed a teen room makeover. I tried to make the rooms look like they would belong to teenagers. How did I do? Lmk down in the comments what you think. Like always, Happy Simming 😁🫶🏾✨

After giving Ryan and Raegan their room makeovers, I've picked up some great tips I wanted to share. It's all about balancing their personality with practicality, and making sure the space grows with them. First off, think about color palettes. For Raegan's room, I went with a bold pink theme, incorporating a fun leopard print bed and a charming Hello Kitty rug. This really brought out her playful side. For Ryan, a red-themed room with a sporty vibe, complete with a 'PRINCE' wall decal and circular Pokemon decorations, felt perfect. Don't be afraid to use vibrant hues but also consider balancing them with neutral tones for furniture like desks or dressers. You can add pops of color through accessories like string lights, artwork, or throw pillows. Next, personalize with decor. This is where you can really make a Sim's room unique. I love using wall decals to spell out names or cool words, just like the 'Raegan' and 'PRINCE' decals I used. Look for items that reflect their hobbies or interests. For a gamer teen, a cool gaming setup is a must. For a fashionista, a vanity with a lighted mirror, like Raegan's, is essential. Adding collectibles, posters, or even custom content related to their favorite bands or shows can make the room feel lived-in and authentic. Storage is crucial for any teen, virtual or real! I made sure to include plenty of shoe storage in Ryan's room, and a closet area in Raegan's. Bookshelves, chests of drawers, and even decorative boxes can be used to keep clutter at bay. This also adds to the realistic feel of the room. Finally, think about the layout. Using an overhead split view, you can really plan out how to maximize space. Even in smaller rooms, you can fit a bed, desk, and seating area by being clever with placement. Maybe a loft bed to free up floor space, or a corner desk unit. The key is to create zones for sleeping, studying, and relaxing. I always try to include a comfy spot like a black couch for hanging out, which Ryan's room has. Experiment with different furniture arrangements until you find what works best for your Sim's personality and room size. Happy Simming and designing!
