Please bare with me I’m still recovering from being sick. My voice is lowkey gone still and I haven’t done my makeup in ages
Recovering from an illness can be a challenging time, and it's important to listen to your body throughout the process. When I was sick, losing my voice was one of the most frustrating symptoms because it affected how I communicated with others and interacted daily. It made me realize how often we take the ability to speak for granted. During this period, I also took an unplanned break from my usual makeup routine. Normally, putting on makeup is part of how I express myself and feel confident. However, while recovering, I found comfort in keeping things simple and allowing my skin to breathe. In my experience, embracing a low-key appearance during recovery helped me focus more on healing rather than maintaining my usual beauty standards. It was a reminder that self-care can look different depending on our health, and that is perfectly okay. For anyone going through a similar time of being under the weather, I recommend giving yourself permission to pause certain routines and prioritize rest. Additionally, staying hydrated and getting plenty of sleep are crucial steps to aid in voice recovery and overall wellness. Once I started feeling better, gradually reintroducing my makeup routine became a joyful part of reclaiming my normal daily habits. But the main takeaway is that health comes first, and it’s important to be gentle with yourself during those vulnerable moments. Sharing updates like this reminds us that everyone has times when they must slow down, and it’s perfectly natural to experience changes in our usual lifestyle while healing.
