Disclaimer: I am very aware that social media is entirely random, some people do pay their way to the top, and a lot of people are taking something. So be the outlier. Be the odd one out.

From my experience, navigating the world of fitness motivation and social media can be overwhelming. Many influencers appear to have it all — a perfect physique, sponsorships, and seemingly effortless success. But as pointed out, often there’s more beneath the surface, such as financial backing or substances like steroids, which aren’t always visible to followers. One key takeaway I’ve learned is that true motivation comes down to dedication and consistency, not just appearances or popularity. I found that treating my fitness journey like a full-time commitment — balancing work, school, or other responsibilities — helped me stay accountable and focused. There were times when people doubted my progress or said I had advantages I didn’t, but I realized that excuses rarely lead to improvement. Being the 'outlier' or the 'odd one out' means carving your own path instead of following the crowd. Social media can be random and sometimes unfair, but if you concentrate on your goals and put in the effort, you'll see results. Even if progress seems slow or you face setbacks, trying and failing is better than inaction. Moreover, I’ve noticed that many people complain about their situations without taking actionable steps to fix them. It’s tempting to point fingers at influencers or say, “They get paid to look like that,” but the reality is that many successful people have sacrificed a lot and put in the work behind the scenes. To anyone struggling with motivation or comparing themselves to others online, I’d say: focus on what you can control. Lock in on your schedule, find what drives you personally, and surround yourself with supportive communities. Remember, social media is often a highlight reel, and real success requires patience and discipline. Ultimately, your journey is unique and being authentic to yourself is the true key to lasting motivation and fulfillment.
