It’s a frustrating cycle, and frankly, it makes my passion projects, like glassblowing, feel like a monumental effort sometimes. I thought I'd share some of what I've been learning and trying to combat this constant early fatigue, in case you’re feeling the same way. First off, I started looking into the most common culprits. The first thing everyone talks about is sleep. It's not just about getting 7-9 hours, which I often aim for, but also about the quality of that sleep. Are you waking up frequently? Do you feel refreshed? I've realized that sometimes I might be in bed for eight hours, but my sleep isn't deep. Things like a noisy environment, an uncomfortable mattress, or even just scrolling on my phone right before bed can really mess with my sleep cycle. I'm trying to create a stricter 'wind-down' routine – dimming the lights, staying off screens, and maybe reading a physical book instead. Another big one for me has been diet and hydration. I used to think as long as I ate *something*, it was fine. But now I'm paying more attention to what I eat. Processed foods and too much sugar can lead to energy crashes, leaving me feeling sluggish mid-morning. I've been trying to incorporate more whole foods, like fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins, especially at breakfast. And water – oh my goodness! I used to barely drink water throughout the day. Now, I try to keep a water bottle with me and sip regularly. Even mild dehydration can make you feel surprisingly tired. Stress and mental load are huge factors too. With work, personal commitments, and trying to keep up with hobbies like glassblowing, my brain often feels like it's running a marathon before I even get out of bed. The constant mental chatter can be exhausting. I’m experimenting with short meditation breaks or just stepping away from my workspace for five minutes to clear my head. Sometimes, just acknowledging the stress helps a little. And then there's physical activity. It sounds counterintuitive, but sometimes when you're tired, the last thing you want to do is exercise. However, I’ve noticed that on days I manage even a brisk walk, I often feel more energized later. It’s like it kick-starts my system. I'm not talking about intense workouts every day, but just moving my body consistently throughout the week. Finally, I’ve come to realize that sometimes, if the fatigue is persistent and nothing seems to help, it might be worth checking in with a doctor. Things like vitamin deficiencies (especially B12 or D), thyroid issues, or even iron deficiency can manifest as chronic tiredness. It's always good to rule out any underlying health concerns. So, if you’re also constantly asking yourself 'why do I get tired early?', know that you’re not alone. I’m still on my journey to figure out the best routine for my body, but focusing on sleep quality, mindful eating, managing stress, and gentle movement has definitely made a difference. What are your go-to tips for beating early fatigue? I'd love to hear what works for you!
