repent and believe in the name of Jesus Christ
Repent and believe: it's a daily decision to walk in communion with the living God, as I put off the old man with its sinful lusts and desires, and put on the new man and walk in the new life of freedom and righteousness, created for those who walk with God, who desire that daily communion and intimacy with God through Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
All throughout scripture we see this theme of “Repent and believe.”
Repent means to turn away from self, from our own sinful human nature, and believe in the gospel; the good news of Jesus Christ
In the scriptures we see this theme of repentance and belief personified in many of the bible's characters; David comes to mind as we read through the old testament narratives of his life, and in the Psalms.
We know David was a sinner, saved by grace, through faith in God. He was in constant communion with God. We can see how David was a man seeking after the heart of God. He was continually turning away from himself and toward God. Whenever he was experiencing inner struggles or turmoil, battling his own human nature, as well as being pursued by the enemy, he turned away from himself and toward God; he repented and believed in the good news, and he was saved.
Abraham repented of himself and believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness. (Romans 4:3; Genesis 15:6)
The most righteous act we can do is to repent of ourselves and believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the good news of His resurrection. Abraham and David were looking forward to that eternal promise.
This same theme of repenting and believing in the gospel is still playing out today in our own personal lives, as we deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Jesus Christ.

This perspective encourages spiritual maturity and intimacy with God, powered by the Holy Spirit’s indwelling. Sharing this process with others has also shown me its communal importance. When we mutually encourage daily repentance and belief, it strengthens collective faith and accountability within the Christian walk.
