Meet Freya
Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to finally properly introduce you all to my absolute best furbaby, Freya! As you can see, she's grown so much and is now a vibrant 10-month-old puppy. Every day with her is an adventure, and I honestly can't imagine my dog life without her. For those curious about her breed, Freya is a Pitbull Mastiff mix, and let me tell you, she's got the best of both worlds! From her Pitbull side, she gets that incredible loyalty, intelligence, and boundless energy that makes every play session so much fun. She loves to run and play fetch, and her zoomies are legendary in our household! Then there's the Mastiff influence, which you can clearly see in her solid build, sometimes goofy clumsiness, and her calm, protective nature. She's a big softie inside, always wanting to cuddle up next to me on the sofa, even though she's getting quite big and sometimes forgets she's not a lap dog anymore! At 10 months old, Freya is still very much a puppy, which means she's full of curiosity and sometimes a little bit of mischief. It's a stage where they're constantly learning and testing boundaries. We're working hard on her training, focusing on positive reinforcement and consistency, and she's incredibly smart. It's been so rewarding to see her learn new commands like "stay" and "leave it," which are crucial for a powerful dog. Socialization has been key since day one; she loves meeting new people and other dogs at the park, which is so important for fostering a confident and friendly temperament in a strong breed like hers. We expose her to various sounds, sights, and experiences to ensure she's well-adjusted. One thing I adore about Freya is her incredibly affectionate nature. She truly is the love of my life. Her big, soulful eyes just melt my heart, and she's always there to greet me with a wagging tail that can clear a coffee table and a happy bark that says "you're home!" Living with a Pitbull Mastiff puppy means lots of dedicated effort and activity – daily long walks, energetic park visits where she can really stretch her legs, and plenty of mental stimulation with puzzle toys and training sessions to keep her brilliant mind engaged. These breeds thrive on having a "job" or purpose, even if it's just being the best family companion. We also pay close attention to her diet, opting for high-quality kibble formulated for large breeds to ensure she’s getting all the nutrients she needs to support her rapid growth and maintain her strong physique. It's important to remember that while these breeds can appear intimidating, with proper training, socialization, and a loving home, they are incredibly gentle and devoted companions.
