Starting Baby Boy’s Nursery
Lemme tell you, I never thought I’d be here in life.
After 6.5 years of infertility, 4 miscarriages, IVF, and other fertility treatments I’m finally turning my ex-storage room into our son’s room!
I would walk past this room, wondering what else I’d do with it if we didn’t have a baby, I had no ideas. In my mind this was always reserved to be our babies room. There was a time I believed it wouldn’t be that. It hurt my heart walking into this room, a feeling of heaviness and sadness that it was never going to be a nursery, a kids room, my babies room.
Well it’s finally here and we’ve started it!
Although it’s a WIP along with other home renovations I just want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to become a mother, to be able to build and create my baby’s room. All I’ve ever wanted to be is a mom and I’m just about 16-18 short weeks from welcoming him home! 🥹🩵

Starting a baby boy's nursery can be one of the most exciting and fulfilling projects for expecting parents. When designing your nursery, consider incorporating themes that reflect your personal style and preferences, whether it’s whimsical, modern, or traditional. Choose a color palette that creates a calming atmosphere; soft blues, greens, and neutral colors are popular choices that help promote relaxation in the space. Don’t forget about essential furniture items such as a sturdy crib, a changing table, and comfortable seating for feeding and soothing your baby. Storage solutions like baskets and shelves can help keep the space organized and clutter-free, making it easier to find necessary items during late-night diaper changes. Additionally, consider adding personalized touches like artwork, decorative toys, and plush blankets that not only enhance the room’s aesthetic but also provide comfort and warmth to your newborn. Another critical aspect of nursery planning is safety; ensure all furniture is secure and that you have baby-proofing measures in place. As your child grows, their nursery will evolve, so keep in mind that flexibility in design will be key to adapting the space to their changing needs—whether it becomes a playroom or a bedroom. Sharing your nursery journey on social media can connect you with other new parents and generate helpful feedback, making the experience even more enjoyable and fulfilling. Embrace the joy of this new chapter by creating a nurturing environment for your little boy, filled with love and creativity.
