shift 1/5! grwm 🫶🏽 #fyp #grwmroutine #grwmforwork #nursegrwm #fypシ
Starting a demanding shift as a nurse often requires more than just medical skills—it demands a solid routine to keep energy levels high. For me, the key to surviving a long stretch of shifts like this 1/5 series is setting up a consistent morning ritual that helps me mentally and physically prepare. Every morning starts with a quick but energizing breakfast. Hydration is a must, followed by a good cup of coffee—my favorite is from Dutch Bros, which gives me that perfect caffeine boost to jumpstart the day. I also believe in organizing my work essentials the night before. Scrubs, badge, pager, and any special equipment are prepared in advance to avoid any rush. Taking a little time to check my schedule and visualize the day ahead adds a layer of calm before the storm. Skincare and quick self-care are more important than people often think, especially when you’re on your feet for hours. A simple GRWM (Get Ready With Me) routine focusing on feeling fresh and confident helps me tackle the day’s challenges. Lastly, I make sure to have some healthy snacks and a water bottle handy during the shift. With such long hours, keeping hydrated and nourished is key to maintaining focus and endurance. Incorporating these small but essential steps has truly transformed how I handle multiple shifts. It’s not just about getting ready physically, but also gearing up mentally to provide the best care to my patients. If you’re a fellow nurse or healthcare worker, perhaps try adapting parts of this routine to your own schedule. It can make a significant difference in how your workday flows!
