What I Bought Vs. How I styled: Hobby Lobby 🌾

My bookshelves are my favorite little space where I can add the cutest decor. I stick to a neutral color scheme with pops of greenery.

I went into hobby lobby and found these vases that would be perfect for my shelves! They were priced fairly and if you wait until they go on sale, you can get them for 50% off.

I don’t have any greenery stems in them, but I’ve been debating on adding some to them. What do you think?

... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my recent Hobby Lobby finds for my bookshelves, I wanted to share even more about creating those perfect display moments. I know we're all looking for ways to make our home decor shine, and finding the right display and hanging shelves, or even just the perfect pieces to style them, can make all the difference. When I think about 'Hobby Lobby display shelves,' I'm not just thinking about buying the shelf itself, but how to curate an entire look. Hobby Lobby is a fantastic spot if you're aiming to build a rustic farmhouse, modern minimalist, or even a bohemian display. While they might not stock large furniture pieces, they often have a great selection of smaller decorative wall shelves, floating shelf kits, or even wooden crates that can be repurposed into unique display solutions. I've seen some amazing DIY projects using their craft wood sections to create custom hanging shelves – definitely worth checking out if you're a bit handy! Once you have your shelves, the real fun begins: styling them! This is where Hobby Lobby truly shines. I always focus on balance and varying heights, just like I did with my vases. For instance, if you have two identical items, placing one on each end of a shelf, or offsetting them on a tiered display, creates a harmonious look. Think about grouping items in odd numbers – three or five small objects often look more appealing than an even number. Remember to step back and assess the arrangement; sometimes a small tweak can make a huge difference in achieving that perfectly balanced aesthetic. Don't forget about texture and layering! I love mixing materials like wood, metal, ceramics, and even adding textiles. For hanging shelves, lighter items work best, so they don't look too heavy. Think small potted plants (Hobby Lobby has tons of faux options!), framed mini artworks, or delicately carved wooden figures. I also love adding personal touches like unique trinkets from travels or sentimental photos in interesting frames. These elements truly make your display shelves feel unique to you. Speaking of greenery, I'm still debating adding stems to my new vases, but it's such a great way to bring life to any shelf display. Hobby Lobby's floral section is a goldmine for realistic-looking faux plants and stems. Eucalyptus, olive branches, or even some fluffy pampas grass can instantly elevate your shelf decor. They also have a wide array of small planters and decorative pots that can house your chosen greenery. And don't shy away from their seasonal sections; you can often find unique items that fit a neutral aesthetic but add a touch of timely charm. Finally, always keep an eye out for their sales – they often have categories like 'home decor' or 'crafts' at 50% off, which is perfect for snagging those unique pieces without breaking the bank. Creating beautiful display shelves doesn't have to be expensive; it's all about finding those hidden gems and arranging them thoughtfully to tell your home's story. Happy decorating!
