How to style an accent table 🌿

A few months back I finally purchased the matching accent table to my coffee table & I was so excited to style it!

It’s on the smaller side, so when I decorate I like to keep things very simple.

I added this white lamp and simple marble coasters.

In the shelving at the bottom, I added this wicker basket that matches my blanket basket. I put green moss balls from at home into it. I love the way this turned out & I hope you guys do too!

... Read moreHey home decor lovers! I wanted to share a bit more about how I approach accent table styling, especially for those smaller spaces or when you want to achieve that effortlessly chic look. My main goal is always to create a functional yet beautiful spot without overwhelming the area. When I was styling my wooden accent table, I really focused on natural textures and subtle colors, which you can see with my choice of a crisp white lamp and that cozy wicker basket. If you're looking to replicate this, think about your existing decor. Do you have a gray sofa or other neutral tones? Then incorporating natural wood, white ceramics, or even a simple plant like I have beside my table, can tie everything together beautifully. One tip I swear by for end table decor is the 'rule of three' or 'rule of odd numbers.' Instead of cluttering, pick 1-3 key pieces. For instance, I used just a lamp, a stack of marble coasters, and a small decorative item like my moss balls in a basket. This keeps it visually interesting without looking messy. If your table is larger, you might go for five items, perhaps adding a small stack of books or a scented candle. Don't forget about the base of your accent table! If it has shelves, like mine, it's a fantastic opportunity for hidden storage or another decorative moment. My wicker basket with those vibrant green moss balls not only adds a pop of natural color but also brings in texture. You could also use a stylish storage box for remote controls or a small stack of magazines. The key is to keep it contained and tidy. Consider the practical side too. An accent table isn't just for show; it's often a landing spot for drinks, books, or your phone. That's why I always include a coaster – whether it's a simple scalloped design or a more rustic wooden one, it’s essential. And a lamp, like my white ceramic one, is crucial for creating a warm ambiance, especially in the evenings. Think about the height of your lamp too; it should be proportionate to the table and provide functional light without being too bright or dim for the space. Finally, don't be afraid to experiment with what you already have! Shop your home for items that fit your aesthetic. That 'perfect' little vase or a unique sculpture might already be hiding in your cupboards. Accent table styling should feel personal and reflective of your taste, so have fun with it!
